Do you ever feel like your day just runs away from you?
Happy Friday,
Do you ever feel like your day just takes on a life of its own? You start with a plan, maybe even a to-do list, but before you know it, distractions, interruptions, and little fires to put out steal your time — and suddenly the day’s gone.
That, right there, is one of the biggest reasons many businesses (and people) struggle to thrive: a lack of control over their time.
Here’s why time management is absolutely crucial:
- Without focus, growth stalls. You spend your day “busy” but not on the tasks that actually drive revenue or retention.
- Distractions drain energy. Every time you switch focus, it takes longer to get back into the flow – your brain gets tired faster.
- Your team follows your lead. If you’re scattered, they’ll be scattered too. Strong leadership comes with strong focus.
The good news? Time management doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You can start small. Here are two simple practices you can try today:
đ Choose your “top 3” every morning. Write down the three most important things you must complete today for your business. Not ten, not twenty – just three.
Protect those three at all costs, and let the rest fall in after.
đ An Hour a day paves the way: just one focused, distraction-free hour can transform your results. Phone on silent, email closed, door shut. Try it — you’ll be amazed.
On a personal note, this week has been an emotional one for me. My son got his driver’s licence. A whole new world of independence for him… and a huge lesson in letting go for me. Let’s just say I had to dig deep to find a sense of calm with him being out on the roads without me! It reminded me how much of life (and business) is about focus, trust, and not letting fear or distractions take over.
So here’s my encouragement to you this week: take back control of your time. Even one small step can create a big shift in your business and in your peace of mind.
To your focus,
Marisa
P.S. Distractions will always come knocking, but you get to choose whether they run your day — or you do. Start with one small change today, and watch the difference it makes.
