The problem isn’t your content.
Hello,
This week I found myself standing in front of my wardrobe.
Now, before you start wondering whether this newsletter has accidentally turned into a fashion blog...
Stay with me. 😅
I looked at all the clothes hanging there and had that familiar thought we’ve all had at some point.
“I have nothing to wear.”

Which, of course, wasn’t true. I had plenty to wear. I just couldn’t decide what to wear. And then it hit me...
This is exactly how so many business owners feel about creating content.
“I don’t know what to post.”
“We’ve run out of ideas.”
“We’ve posted everything already.”
“Social media is so hard.”
But after Wednesday’s Masterclass, I’m more convinced than ever...
Most businesses don’t have a content problem.
They have a strategy problem.
This week’s Masterclass was all about visibility. Not followers. Not viral videos. Not fancy editing. Visibility.
Because the reality is...
You can create content every single day... And still be invisible.
One of the first things we spoke about was something I called The New Rules of Visibility.
I won’t unpack all five of them here...
(That’s one of the perks of being in the room 😉.)
But one of the rules sparked one of my favourite conversations of the morning.
Education beats promotion. Simple. Yet so often ignored. Think about your own social media for a moment. How many of your recent posts are asking people to buy something? Book something. Visit something. Claim something.
Now ask yourself...
How many taught your audience something they didn’t know five minutes earlier?
That question changed the way many people in the room looked at their own content.
Another topic we explored was something I think every business owner should write on a sticky note and keep next to their computer.
Not every piece of content has the same job.
Some posts should educate.
Some should prove.
Some should humanise your business.
Some should help people understand why you’re different.
Some should simply create connection.
And yes...
Sometimes you absolutely should ask people to book.
The problem is...
Many businesses only ever create one type.
And then wonder why their audience has stopped paying attention.
If there’s one thing I’d love you to think about this week, it’s this:
Before creating your next post, don’t ask…
“What should I post?”
Instead ask...
“What job does this piece of content need to do?”
Because great marketing isn’t about posting more.
It’s about posting with purpose.
And purpose always beats pressure.
The longer I work with businesses, the more I realise something.
Marketing isn’t really about content.
It’s about generosity.
Sharing what you know.
Helping before asking.
Teaching before selling.
Building trust before expecting bookings.
And perhaps that’s why the businesses that win in the long run aren’t always the loudest...
They’re the ones that consistently add value.
I hope that’s something you’ll think about before creating your next piece of content.
Have a beautiful weekend with lots of revenue!!!!
Hugs,
Marisa
