When it all feels like a disaster, stay the course!
Happy Happy Friday, {{ first_name }},
Are you feeling like you’re stuck in the middle of a storm? Maybe you’re running on empty, questioning if it’s all worth it? Or perhaps it feels like you’re spinning your wheels, but getting nowhere?
Well, I’ve got two stories to share with you today, and I hope they give you a burst of energy and a little nudge to keep going. I love sharing these real stories because this is how we all learn and grow—through the raw, real-life stuff.
Picture this: You’ve spent millions on a brand-new spa. You’re pumped, the doors are finally open, and your heart is bursting with pride. But six months in, reality hits—your business isn’t running smoothly, clients are few and far between, staff are unmotivated, systems are a mess, and everywhere you turn, people are just trying to take your money with ‘quick-fix’ solutions. Oh, and your expenses? Six times more than your revenue! 😱 Scary, right?
Definitely not sustainable. I could feel my heart breaking for this client—imagine being on a tiny raft in the middle of a raging sea. That’s probably how she felt.
And then, there’s another amazing client—an absolute sweetheart—who’s dealing with staff abandoning ship, resignations left and right, and gaping holes in upper management. She’s burned out, doing everything she can to keep the business afloat.
I’m exhausted just writing about it, so I can only imagine how they must feel.
But here’s the thing—I’m helping both of these incredible business owners right now. And I want to share some of what I’ve told them, because I bet you’re facing some sort of challenge too, and it can feel downright demoralizing. While these businesses need some serious TLC, remember this: there’s no magic wand. It took months to get into this situation, and it’ll take a few months to get out of it—but there are solutions, and I can’t wait to share their success stories with you.
Here are my top tips:
- Don’t panic. Your team will follow your lead. If you’re stressed, freaking out, and losing it, they will too. I had a friend, Michelle, who always said, “Put your big girl panties on and make it happen.” Now’s the time to step into ‘actress mode’ and give your best performance—your team will mirror your calm and confidence.
- Make a plan. Before you become an octopus with arms going in all directions, sit down and map out a plan of action. Get focused, get clear, and then work that plan like a pro.
- Get HELP. Don’t try to go it alone. You need support, a community, and someone who knows what they’re doing to guide you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you don’t ask, you don’t get!
Now, here are two things I can offer you today to help ease the pressure—but you need to act!
1. Join our tribe, the Wellness Professionals Club. It’s a community of like-minded business owners who support each other and grow together. Joining is easy—just click here and you’re in.
2. Attend my ‘HIRING SMART’ coaching session next Tuesday. This won’t solve all your problems, but I guarantee it’ll cut down on at least 50% of them. Learn the right way to hire staff from the get-go.
